Privacy Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
FairWhere ("we") is made by Sunny Simms Inc. This policy explains what FairWhere collects, why, who can see it, and how to delete it. We don't sell your data, show ads, or use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Account: your email address or phone number, or the identifier Apple gives us if you use Sign in with Apple (Apple may give us a private relay email instead of your real one). If you set a password, it is stored hashed by our database provider.
- Profile: the name, @username, profile photo and home course you choose, and a friend code.
- Buddies: who you're connected with and pending requests, plus anyone you block.
- Rounds: when you start sharing a round: the course, tee time, riding or walking, your usual pace, the hole you're on, scores you enter, and who may see it.
- Location during a round: only while a round you started is being shared. The app uses your phone's location (including with the screen locked) to work out which hole you're on. We keep only your latest position on that round, and erase it when the round ends, when you stop sharing, or automatically when you leave the course.
- Alerts: the alerts you ask for about a buddy's rounds, and the alerts about your rounds that buddies asked for.
- Notifications: if you turn on notifications, your phone's push token and time zone, so we can deliver alerts with the right times.
- Reports: if you report someone, the report and a snapshot of their name and photo at the time.
Who can see what
- Your buddies see your name, photo and @username, and your round while it's live and for 4 hours after (or only the buddies you pick for that round).
- Buddies never see your exact location outside a round you're sharing.
- Your stats and round history are visible only to you.
- People you block can't see you, and you can't see them.
Services we use
- Supabase (database, sign-in, file storage, server functions), hosted in the United States.
- Apple (Sign in with Apple and push notifications).
- Map providers: OpenFreeMap (map tiles) and Esri (satellite imagery). Your device requests map images from them directly, which shares your IP address and the map area being viewed, as with any map.
- Email / text delivery for sign-in codes.
We don't use analytics or advertising trackers in the app.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data until you delete it. In the app, go to Me → Delete account: this permanently deletes your profile, photo, rounds, scores, buddies, alerts and notification tokens. Reports you made are kept without your name so we can act on them. You can also ask us to delete your account at the address on the Support page.
Children
FairWhere isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Your choices
- Location is used only during rounds you start. You can change location permission in iPhone Settings at any time.
- Notifications are optional and can be turned off in iPhone Settings.
- You can see, edit or delete your profile in the app, and ask us for a copy of your data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
